Bathroom improvement project with unique cabinets

Testimonials

Customer satisfaction is a priority for The Cabinet Maker, LLC. Rather than tell you how well we meet that goal, we’ll let our customers tell you themselves.

Detail, care, general contractor

Detail. Match of method and materials. Care. And completion before deadline. Yup. Work with The Cabinet Maker, and you also will experience this. [Even his installation Technicians are great.] If you want craftsmanship, timely results, and NO drama, we can't give you a better suggestion than the trade partnership of The Cabinet Maker/John Phillips and the overall contracting of Renovations Group (ask for Bryan Ward). This is the renovation dream team.

Milwaukee Art Museum contracts with Cabinet Maker

We contracted with The Cabinet Maker, LLC for various projects for the Milwaukee Art Museum. In addition to custom cabinets, they provided design expertise and input, working alongside our internal staff and other contractors.

The projects were managed directly by owner, John Phillips, enabling clear communication and timely completion. We also value the flexibility of a custom shop to adapt to the one-of-a kind needs that our projects present. Working with a local business is a huge plus for us, and greatly contributed to cutting through the red tape.

 Remodeling a kitchen

Remodeling a home can be an intimidating endeavor with a myriad of details to consider.  Remodeling a kitchen can be especially challenging and stressful due to the loss of use and high expense with all the demands this particular room requires. The one thing that we had full confidence in was trusting John in fabricating our kitchen cabinets.  He was incredibly thorough, always professional and is a very talented craftsman.

We were very pleased with the communication throughout the project, with his timeliness and ultimately with the end product itself.  Thanks John for making this piece of our kitchen remodel be worry free!

Custom cabinet project in Muskego, Wisconsin

We had been thinking about remodeling our kitchen for more than a few years. We finally decided to take the plunge; but where to begin? We were a bit intimidated by the task before us. We enlisted the services of an architect and he introduced us to John Phillips. That was our day of special blessings!

We were immediately impressed with John during our initial consultation. We were so comfortable with his manner; we called him that night to tell him he was our choice for the job. He made a personal commitment to us that he would use his best efforts and skill to give us the quality kitchen we wanted. AND HE DID!

John’s attention to detail is outstanding. Our home is older, and there were many challenges to be met with floors that were not level and walls that were not square. Those challenges were met to our great satisfaction. He scribed the end panel of our pantry that meets a masonry wall; it fits so perfectly, everyone takes special notice and comments on how skillfully the work was done. The superior effort he put into crafting our cabinets will ensure that we will enjoy their beauty far into the future.

If you are looking for a craftsman with integrity and outstanding skill, I would recommend John Phillips without hesitation!

New doors for project in Oak Creek, Wisconsin

We needed a custom match to cover shelves in our kitchen that had been sitting open and painted white for 7 years.  They had been built on the wall of the basement stairs but were never completed with doors.  It was a great storage area but my food and kitchen accessories were visible to all who came to our house.

John was recommended to us and he took on the challenge to match the doors of our kitchen. Even though we had a tight time frame, he installed the new doors before our open house during the holidays.  We have received many compliments.  I could not be happier with the result and how he finished our kitchen.

Basement bar and entertainment area in Brookfield, Wisconsin

The Cabinet Maker did a great job of turning our ideas for a wet bar in our basement into reality. John recommended we use the Express Cabinets because of the short time frame we had for getting our project completed. There were a lot of options to choose from, but John’s expertise helped us in choosing the right style and finish to make the wet bar tie into the rest of our basement. The cabinets turned out great and we have received nothing but great compliments on them. There are a lot of options out there for buying cabinets, but I would highly recommend the Cabinet Maker for his consultative approach to his customers and an honest opinion.”

New vanity cabinet for bathroom in St. Francis, Wisconsin

Imagine waiting many years to finally re-do your bathroom. You spend time looking for vanities, searching for cabinets, faucets, etc. Naturally, nothing stock fits your space. Every time you start, you are stonewalled by not knowing how to solve one dilemma or another.

The cost of contracting out the project seems out of your range, but then one thing leads to another and you meet John Phillips. John is willing to work within your budget and has the support people to get the job done.

These craftsmen come when they say they will, have the needed tools and supplies, work neatly and clean up after themselves. Plus, each and every one is a wonderfully nice human being.

To say we are delighted with our relationship with The Cabinet Maker is an understatement. Personally, the moment that meant the most to me was John’s sensitivity to my concern over the light placement. You know he’s not a run of the mill contractor.

Our bathroom is beautiful and everyone who comes to our home is impressed with the final product. Thanks John!

Project improving use of space in a Milwaukee, Wisconsin kitchen

John took our poorly laid out, isolated kitchen -- with storage space so inadequate we couldn't even add a dishwasher without losing a third of our cabinets -- and turned it into a storage-laden centerpiece I know we're going to have a ton of fun in.  In addition, this kitchen is green conscious, FSC Certified materials were used, reclaimed wood, recycled wood and energy efficient LED under cabinet lighting. Green and gorgeous; what a great combination!

Rec room bar in Bay View, Wisconsin

When I added a bar for my basement improvement project, a friend recommended The Cabinet Maker. After seeing one of John’s completed bar projects, I knew he could design a great bar for my space and needs. His pays close attention to the details and does exceptional work. My custom bar is the perfect gathering place for family and friends, especially during football season.

Bungalow arts and craft style kitchen sink cabinet in Bay View, Wisconsin

We have a 1920's bungalow with original kitchen cabinets. We desperately wanted a dishwasher and we could only pull it off with a custom sink cabinet. We called on John, who designed a blueprint that matched our 1920's kitchen cabinets. From its hardware to its molding, the new addition matched perfectly. John even used a bamboo counter top, that not only looks great but is also eco-friendly. We've received so many compliments on our kitchen update – and we love the time saved with our new dishwasher!

Custom wall with business logo branding in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

When United Way decided a customized movable wall was needed to separate staff space from public space, we presented the opportunity to various vendors. We selected the Cabinet Maker because they had the best design and for their willingness to provide some services pro bono in support of our nonprofit mission.

The wall, which features a large scale United Way logo, brands the interior space and functions as a welcome to all that enter our building. It enhances the ambience of our workspace with clean lines and a professional feel.

We appreciated the good advice on the finish materials and we are very satisfied with the quality of the final product. I would recommend them to anyone.

Kitchen upgrade with stylish column in Shorewood, Wisconsin

When my husband and I needed a kitchen upgrade, it was important that our new peninsula match the existing cabinetry, rather than look like an addition. Our friend had recently used John Phillips for a custom woodworking project. She recommended we give him a call. The work was completed ahead of schedule and I would gladly recommend his service to anyone looking for quality custom woodworking, as well as excellent customer service.

New drawer and cabinet fronts for kitchen in Mequon, Wisconsin

My cabinets and drawer fronts in the kitchen were a throwback to the 1970's and they didn't go well with the rest of the updated house. Due to the layout of my kitchen, I could not really start over from scratch. John consulted with me and he knew exactly what I wanted to achieve. He crafted new doors and drawer fronts as well as rebuilt a smaller section to bring it all together. The outcome was even better than I could have hoped for. John's standards of quality, craftsmanship, precision and attention to detail made this a great experience and put new life into an otherwise dated kitchen. Finding a professional wood worker to be prompt, detailed and precise is not the rule; it's the exception. John exudes these qualities. I would suggest John to anyone who expects exceptional work with a marvelous outcome.

Unique cabinets to hide existing basement infrastructure in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Remodeling our basement into a family living area meant some major decisions had to be made. The gas meter was relocated outside, but the water meter, located right in the center of our basement wall, was a different story. We hired The Cabinet Maker to come up with some ideas to somehow disguise it. After listening to our needs, he designed a cabinet that was a “perfect fit.” He wanted to make sure that it didn’t look like it was ‘hiding’ anything and would give us the usability we required. His work has brought WOWs from our neighbors, family and friends. John’s talent, workmanship and extremely high standards exceeded our expectations. The quality of his design and his attention to detail are remarkable. We would wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone needing cabinetry.

Custom solution for conference room in Brookfield, Wisconsin

One of our clients stopped by and we met in our conference room. He immediately noticed the table you made for our large screen monitor and he was impressed beyond words. He was wondering where we bought it and I told him that it was custom designed by you for us. Don't be surprised if he calls you. I did give him your card. He asked about some of your work and I told him about the work you did on our cabinets at home also. I still am amazed on how you were able to match the woodwork on our cabinets. It just looks great.

I know I have thanked you before but this client brought to my attention again how pleased we are with the work you did for us. I appreciate your creativity but equally important, the quality of work you have done. I just needed to share the comments by our client. Please be assured you will hear from me again when I need some woodwork done. Thanks again John.

New basement bar in West Allis, Wisconsin

After purchasing my home, one of the first things I wanted to do was to remodel my basement into a rec room. I spent many hours in my basement trying to decide on a floor plan. I knew I wanted my rec room to include a bar that would be the focal point of the room.

After shopping around to find that "perfect bar" I met John Phillips who crafted my "PERFECT BAR". I was very satisfied with his personalized attention and excellent workmanship.
