About Us: The Cabinet Maker, LLC is a high service, custom design-build cabinet shop. We specialize in manufacturing one-of-a-kind residential kitchen and bath cabinetry, bars, and built-ins, matching style and color in existing homes.
My wife and I had an excellent experience with John Phillips and his Company team. Through all phases of the project from design, selection of materials, to construction and installation, the project was well-handled. Our correspondence from phone calls and e-mails was very productive and did not waste our time or his. He was always courteous and prompt when dealing with us. He paid attention to detail and knew how to ask pertinent questions to guide us through the design and material selection process. He offered appropriate suggestions, at times, but was never overbearing or insistent that we do things his way . He was also patient with us, when we needed time to evaluate options.
The quality of the work, attention to detail and punctuality of John and his team made his Company a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend John and his Firm.
John was great to work with when we needed a new bathroom vanity. It was a great experience designing it. John also allowed us to do our own installation since we are do it yourself type people. Would highly recommend this Cabinet Maker!
Working with John and his team was a smooth, efficient, and fantastic experience. His knowledge was vast regarding preserving the charm of an older home, while updating to provide modern features. Installation went smoothly, and he was always willing to work with us on some quick ideas. I would recommend the quality of his work and team to anyone.
I wanted cabinets for my living room. I tried three other businesses before I found The Cabinet Maker. I am so glad the other ones didn’t come through. John is so nice and was so helpful. My cabinets turned out beautiful and were everything we wanted. The guys that put them in were so efficient, fast, neat, and friendly. They arrived on time. We are so pleased with them. I am so happy with them and I’m glad we found John to do this. I would definitely recommend him. Thank you, Cabinet Maker.
My kitchen remodel was a long time in the works. We bought our house in 2000 and immediately had to do some projects to protect the structure of the house so the more “fun” kitchen remodel went to the back burner. We were hoping to save some of the original cabinetry so over the years we talked to different contractors and cabinet makers. Everyone had good ideas, but it wasn’t until I met with John that I felt like we could make our vision happen. Now we have achieved our goal of preserving the original character of the kitchen while modernizing everything and making it a very charming and efficient place to prepare meals.
It was the collaboration with John that made it happen. The final product was a combination of our ideas and John’s design expertise and craftsmanship. Trade partners were recommended by John included, Milestone Plumbing, and Tamarack Renovations. Overall the project went smoothly. John is very particular in who he works with – he set high standards and the work performed lived up to them.
The cabinets that John constructed for us are beautiful and functional and complement the house style. John was attuned to the look we were trying for in the kitchen. For example, we worked together on keeping the big cast iron radiator under the sink – John built a cabinet that surrounds it while I found the register cover that he built in to it. Keeping some of the old created design challenges, but John was very adept at saving the existing and creating great modern solutions for the new.
We chose custom flush inset cabinetry which is a high-end cabinet to complement the existing cabinets. The cabinetry was not inexpensive, but I did comparison with other cabinet makers and semi-custom cabinet lines. I feel that I absolutely got my money’s worth and that John’s price was competitive with other contractors. The best decision I made on this project was choosing John, The Cabinet Maker. We are thrilled with our new (and old!) kitchen!
We needed a custom match to cover shelves in our kitchen that had been sitting open and painted white for 7 years. They had been built on the wall of the basement stairs but were never completed with doors. It was a great storage area but my food and kitchen accessories were visible to all who came to our house.
John was recommended to us and he took on the challenge to match the doors of our kitchen. Even though we had a tight time frame, he installed the new doors before our open house during the holidays. We have received many compliments. I could not be happier with the result and how he finished our kitchen.
We contracted with The Cabinet Maker, LLC for various projects for the Milwaukee Art Museum. In addition to custom cabinets, they provided design expertise and input, working alongside our internal staff and other contractors.
The projects were managed directly by owner, John Phillips, enabling clear communication and timely completion. We also value the flexibility of a custom shop to adapt to the one-of-a kind needs that our projects present. Working with a local business is a huge plus for us, and greatly contributed to cutting through the red tape.
The Cabinet Maker did an amazing job of designing and making our old world dining room cabinets. They are absolutely stunning and fit in perfectly with the 1920’s architecture of our home. John was very easy to work with and seamlessly blended our ideas with what he knew it took to make the cabinets look and feel like they had always been a part of our home. We could not be more happy with the results.
